A “Coloring” Affair
With the dawn of August has begun my birthday month!
Every year I buy myself a gift. A couple of years ago I purchased the A Song of Ice and Fire book set. Last year I treated myself to an exquisite perfume by Estee Lauder. This year I decided to gift myself the coloring book “The Night Voyage” by Daria Song.
I got the delivery today. The drawings inside are so elaborate. I am in awe of the intricate designs and also worried how will I color them and would I be able to do justice to the drawings. They are just so pretty! 😅
Order of the book was followed by conversation with a friend who is an amazing artist. She suggested I go for pencil colors blended with coloring pens. That was followed by half a day on Amazon looking for the best coloring pencils within my budget. I finally settled on Derwent coloring pencils. They will be delivered tomorrow..so excited to receive them.
Although, there are reasons why I have taken up this activity (project would sound more apt):
- I used to feel at peace doing art and craft work years ago.
- These coloring books are supposed to be excellent stress busters.
- I am trying to pick up a hobby that does not make me feel guilty. Somehow book reading does make me feel guilty.
Lets see for how long does this affair continue! For now, its making me giddy with excitement 😍
